TPG Engineering, led by Chris Tipper

Electrical recruitment for commercial, industrial and data centre environments.

Hand wiring an electrical breaker panel

Electrical recruitment now sits across three overlapping markets: commercial projects, industrial work and data centre delivery. The candidates may hold similar tickets, but the environment changes the hire. A commercial electrician, a data centre electrician and an electrical supervisor on an industrial package may all be strong candidates, but they are not automatically interchangeable. Chris screens for the environment, not only the licence.

Jobs and Skills Australia identifies Electricians as a longer-training-gap shortage occupation, and its occupation profile reports a large, heavily full-time workforce across relevant industries. That supports a simple reality: experienced electricians are selective, particularly where data centres, utilities, industrial projects and commercial contractors compete for the same licensed capability.

Fifteen years in this market means Chris knows what a good one looks like on site rather than on paper. Alongside licensed electricians and supervisors, we have access to a reliable pool of labourers and trades assistants, which can sometimes be even harder to source than electricians.

Compliant on day one, and still compliant in month six

Every person we put forward is checked against the role and the site before you see a name, and the checks do not stop at the start date. Tickets, licences and inductions are held against each person with their expiry dates, so a renewal is flagged before the shift rather than discovered on site. Onboarding, e-signatures, inductions, rostering and timesheets run through the one system, and the records are there when the auditor asks.

  • White Card sighted, expiry date recorded
  • High risk work licences and plant tickets, held with their expiry dates so a renewal is flagged before it lapses
  • Verification of competency for the plant and tasks on your site
  • Right to work and ID verified before anyone is presented
  • Project and site inductions completed before day one
  • SWMS and WHS acknowledgements signed digitally and kept on record
  • Two referees on every candidate
