Questions we're asked

Do you cover all of building services?
Yes. Mechanical and HVAC, electrical, plumbing and hydraulics, and fire, from project managers and engineers to licensed trades, permanent and contract.
Design side or contractor side?
Both, and we screen for which side someone has actually worked. Most of the briefs we take are contractor side, for mechanical, electrical and hydraulic services contractors delivering commercial, health, data centre and industrial projects.
What is a senior mechanical engineer paid in Sydney?
On a live Sydney brief in September 2026 a national HVAC contractor offered $160,000 to $180,000 base plus super. The pay guide has the full range.
What do you check before someone starts on site?
Licences and tickets with their expiry dates, verification of competency for the plant and tasks on your site, right to work and ID, site inductions before day one, and two referees on every candidate.
Can you supply licensed trades on a casual basis?
Yes. TPG Trades and Labour supplies casual electricians, plumbers and other trades in New South Wales from the same network.
Who will I deal with?
Chris Tipper, who leads TPG Engineering. The person you brief owns the result.
